Are diamonds still a girl's best friend?

I went looking for accessories such as necklace or earings or bangles to match my dress for someone's wedding dinner last week. It took me a few days going through almost all the shops or small setup stalls in the shopping mall where I worked, and I couldn't bring myself to buy any of what I saw being sold there. Mind you, the shopping mall that I went is not small, it is a mega mall. Anyway, I ended up with not buying any.

So, why is it so hard for me to buy any sorts of accessories here these days? Simply because all I see is the same. They have got quite similar designs and seeing almost the same thing over and over again from one shop to another is just so boring. Wasted my time browsing through the shops one by one too. How I wish I would have thought shopping online in the first place?

Yeah, why not shop for jewellery and all sorts of accessories online? It is very much simpler and hassle free. Don't even have to pay for parking tickets anywhere or waste time stucked in the traffic jams. I wish I have got lots of money to spend on jewellery as well as cloths. After all, girls could not live without those items. Focusing jewellery alone, are diamonds still a girl's best friend? Well, I personally thinks it was just a marketing gimmick that they used since the long time ago to attract buyers to purchase diamonds because it's expensive and high in profits.

No doubt, diamonds are still very popular choices for weddings and the wealthy society, but more and more people are looking towards something more out of the ordinary. You can see people wearing silver jewellery and still looks posh and stylist these days. With carefully chosen designed, it will look really good and you can even buy it online.

I wished I could have bought some designer jewellery for my sister as her wedding gift if I could afford it. There are many online shopping websites that sells designer jewellery. Finding one which sells anything but ordinary is not easy. For such unique and out of ordinary designed jewellery, you can find it at AstleyClarke.com. You can find some of the most stunning precious and semi-precious designer jewellery from New York, London, Milan, Paris and India. They even have gift sets and special collections to choose from.

Who said only human know what is love

I just want to share with everyone about this incident, message sent to me by a friend. Really touching.... I love my dog Jojo, who is like a daughter to me and I always try my best to understand her feelings and behavious whichever I could. This real story really shows that animals too are able to show love and reminded us what a moron were are sometimes.

The real story starts here..... (sorry about the bad quality pictures)

Yes, animals are more deluded because of their capacity of their physical body, but occasionally some of them might be able show us the love that we have forgotten on
our 'busy road'. Just like this story.

this is real touching…

Hey, wake up! wake up!

A dog was knocked down by a car and died on the middle of the road. Later, another dog is seen beside the corpse of the dog, he tried to wake his friend up using his leg.

Let's move to the safer side of the road...i will move you to the safer side!

When his attempts to wake his friend failed, he tried to push his friend to the side of the road. But the weight of his friend was proven too heavy for him.

Anyone help, tell me what to do.

Though the traffic is busy and dangerous, he just will not go away from his friend. Just stand beside his friend howling and crying.

A lot of people saw this incident and feel very touched. How even a dog can show his loyalty and love to his friend.

My ideal contact lense

Before I start off my mumblings, I would like to make it clear that this is not a sponsored post and I am not paid to write this review. This is just my own review based on my own experience in using contact lenses. Okay, now read on if you are interested to know.

I first started wearing glasses when I was 16 years old. Back then I just treat it as my reading glasses. But later on my vision gets worst which it often the case when you are still schooling. So, I decided to get a contact lenses instead of wearing the ugly glasses all the time. I first started wearing soft lense contact lenses when I was 18-19 years old in college. And my first pair is a brand called Sequence by Bausch & Lomb. I felt very comfortable wearing it even on my first time. And I have been buying that brand of contact lenses ever since.

Later on, after 6-7 years of using Sequence, it was bought over by Acuvue by Johnson & Johnson. Bah... I was devastated as I have tried Acuvue before and I was feeling very uncomfortable wearing their contact lenses. I went to many optical shops and everyone said that Acuvue is the same as Sequence. So, I bought a box of Acuview clear which could last me for 3 months of supply. The moment I put it on, I can feel the discomfort unlike with the old Sequence brand that I couldn't feel there's anything inside my eyes.

After that, I tried another brand called AMO Complete Aquavision. That too, it wasn't suitable for my eyes. Same as Acuvue, I kept having blur vision and it makes my eyes really dry. No doubt both brands indicated that they have high content of water and it is thinly shaped that makes wearing it very comfortably and very suitable for everyone. But I found it to be the exact opposite. I bear with it until it finished.

So, after bearing all the discomfort for about 1 year, I decided not to buy any of those 2 brands even though it was recommended by the optician/sales person form optical shops. I made it a point this time when I shop for contact lenses again, I will make sure they recommend me other brands. And that's just what happen a few weeks back. There's this optical shop I went to near my work place who recommended me Softlens 38 Contact Lenses by Bausch& Lomb. And also recommended me another brand called O2 Optix which is too pricey for me. So, I bought Softlens 38. I have not been disappointed ever since I started wearing Softlens 38. It just feel so comfortable and easy to put on just like the first brand that I love. So, I am happy again to have found my ideal contact lense after all these while of agony.

If you haven't found your ideal pair of contact lenses, don't give up. Keep trying and one day you find the right one for your eyes.

My Google Page Rank

I have just clicked my "My Blog" tab on PPP which display my blog status information and I was so surprise and exited at the same time when I see that my Google Ranking displayed there stated 2 (previously was N/A). I have been hovering over the disappointment that Google has not rank my blog yet after some time because I was desperate to see my PR goes up since I joined PPP and started writing for other sponsored post. All right, it is not a high ranking, but it is enough to spure up some exitement and hope in my tiny blogging world.

To confirm my findings, I went to a few PR checking website such as PRChecker.info, CheckPageRank.com, BlogFlux, SEOpen, and MyPagerank.net. Yup, I know it seems kind of silly to go to so many PR checking website just to know what is my current PR is like. Well, I was excited that's why.

A few months back I was really desperate and tried many ways to boost up my ranking which is N/A (not available) at that time. This is crucial to me because I was hoping to get more sponsored post to write and more opportunity to take up higher paid post. Okay, I do admit that I did not try hard enough but I do put some effort in it though I gave up half way after hearing rumours that Google has stoped ranking free blog sphere like Blogger. Looking back those time where I did make an effort, I posted on How to Increase Google Page Rank and Another Way to Increase Website Traffic, I believe my effort did pay out and now my PR has gone to Rank 2 (which the the measurement of my tiny effort being made).

Throughout the waiting for my PR to be ranked, I have kind of given up a little on emphasizing the drive to boost up my PR in which ever way possible, I now believe it is more important to maintain a good blog site rather than just doing all those mumbo jumbo things just to boost up PR but with a low quality content. This come into me writing about it 5 days ago about Why is Google PR so important?

Well, now I do not want to be so stressed up on eyeing so much on my Google PR, thinking when will the little bar goes up again. I will now put more effort on posting better blog content which is the intention of my creating this blog in the first place! Hmm.... not that I am very far off from that though.... Well, overall I can see a positive change right away when my blog change from PR N/A to PR 2. I got a little bit more opportunity in grabbing ops in PPP.

So cold in the office these days...

Oh! It’s so cold here in the office now a days. The gloomy weather making the air-condition in the office cooler than usual. At the place where I am sitting right now, there isn’t many other colleagues that sits around me, hence the air here often felt cooler than the rest of the office are that has more people in it.

Well, it’s a centralized air-condition in my office building, I cannot do anything about it except cocooning myself with a jacket! Even though with a jacket, I still feel that it is too cold here. Especially when I was wearing skirt to work. So, I wear long pants to work as often as I could with this kind of cool, rainy weather. But anyway, I prefer feeling cold than being steamed up in a hot oven!

The Gingham Dress

Here's a story that I would like to share with everyone. It teaches us to be humble and not to judge a book by it's cover. It is a very short true story by Malcolm Forbes. It's really an interesting read. Read on.....

A lady in a faded gingham dress and her husband, dressed in a homespun threadbare suit, stepped off the train in Boston, and walked timidly without an appointment into the Harvard University President's outer office.

The secretary could tell in a moment that such backwoods, country hicks had no business at Harvard & probably didn't even deserve to be in Cambridge.

"We'd like to see the president," the man said softly.
"He'll be busy all day," the secretary snapped.
"We'll wait," the lady replied.

For hours the secretary ignored them, hoping that the couple would finally become discouraged and go away. They didn't, and the secretary grew frustrated and finally decided to disturb the president, even though it was a chore she always regretted.

"Maybe if you see them for a few minutes, they'll leave," she said to him!

He sighed in exasperation and nodded. Someone of his importance obviously didn't have the time to spend with them, and he detested gingham dresses and homespun suits cluttering up his outer office.

The president, stern faced and with dignity, strutted toward the couple. The lady told him, "We had a son who attended Harvard for one year.

He loved Harvard. He was happy here. But about a year ago, he was accidentally killed. My husband and I would like to erect a memorial to him, somewhere on campus."

The president wasn't touched. He was shocked. "Madam," he said, gruffly, "we can't put up a statue for every person who attended Harvard and died. If we did, this place would look like a cemetery."

"Oh, no," the lady explained quickly. "We don't want to erect a statue. We thought we would like to give a building to Harvard."

The president rolled his eyes. He glanced at the gingham dress and homespun suit, then exclaimed, "A building! Do you have any earthly idea how much a building costs? We have over seven and a half million dollars in the physical buildings here at Harvard."

For a moment the lady was silent. The president was pleased. Maybe he could get rid of them now.

The lady turned to her husband and said quietly, "Is that all it costs to start a university? Why don't we just start our own?"

Her husband nodded. The president's face wilted in confusion and bewilderment. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Stanford got up and walked away, traveling to Palo Alto, California where they established the university that bears their name, Stanford University, a memorial to a son that Harvard no longer cared about.

You can easily judge the character of others by how they treat those who they think can do nothing for them.

Thinking of buying insurance?

Having an insurance policy, no matter what type of policy that we hold is a normal thing now. Unlike some 20 or 30 years ago, many people still does not believe in purchasing insurance. And not many know the importance of having insurance compare to today’s society. Thanks to the hard work of the dedicated Insurance Agents around the world, who unfailingly provide you with the long lectures on the benefits of having insurance.

Most people would have at least one type of insurance policy in their life time. The most common ones is the car insurance policy. Accident happens anytime and everywhere while you were driving because automobile vehicles on the road are increasing in numbers every year. You have got to have insurance coverage for your car especially if your car is an expensive car to ease off your burden of paying for an accidental mishap. Not to mention, total loss of your vehicle when it was stolen. You will get back some of your return with the insurance that you have.

There is a type of insurance policy which I believe not many have it. It is home insurance policy. Well, it is quite important to have your home items, especially the expensive ones protected by home insurance incase of burglary or house fire occurs and you lost your valuables.

If you have intention of buying insurance, you probably will find it a hassle in finding the information that you need for the big decision you are about to make. You can look through the information that you need on the website like NationsFinance.co.uk that can help you find cheap car insurance, or travel insurance, or even pet insurance.

Why is Google PR so important?

Website owners and bloggers all around the world were being hit by the latest Google Page Rank (PR) recently. Everyone in the web sphere are talking about this latest and stricter rules that Google has set. Many found their PR has droped since this last update has been carried out. The main reason being is because of those "blog roll" thing that appear on the side bar. This especially affect people who rely on PR to get better earnings on writing sponsored post who emphasizes on Google PR.

Well, I personally think it is quite rediculous to use the reason of adding a "blog roll" thing on our blog will be de-ranked by Google. And I also heard that those paid "text link ads" that we put on our side bar is also affecting our Google PR. Well, no doubt Google whats to enhance their search engine by only listing those quality websites on their top pages, and that is their decision on make this drastic changes by imposing stricter rules for bloggers and also business website owners. But what can we do since Google has been the big tycoon in internet search engines providers and they are still the number one.

I agree with Darren Rowse from Problogger, who teaches us to emphasize on building a better blog that he has earlier posted on the topic call "Forget About Page Rank and Build a Better Blog". If we can implement this in our blog or website, then I think we really don't have to worry about our PR because it will most definately attract many readers by itself.

Marriage - A Metaphor?

My mind was suddenly hit by one of the fundamental fact of live. Family member, relatives and friends around me are getting married off one by one this year. When you were growing up as a kid, you will be thinking…. when can you reach that height to be taller than your peers. After that ‘racing to be who is the tallest’ phase, you are still growing and not so much as physically growing vertically, but most probably you are worrying about growing horizontally. Then, later you slowly out grew all the childish ways that you have wherever possible (although some people just stuck at this phase somehow). After all these, you are still growing…. to be older of course but unfortunately, not necessary wiser though.

As you grew and grew until you reach at some point in the middle of your life span, there comes the part where people in your peers which you had spent time doing all those childish things are slowly leaving their single hood life to join the blissful (or horror) life of the married world. This year 2007 has become a very eventful year for me. Well, not so much as the center of my life’s event, but it is more to the center of my cousin’s and friend’s event. Oh, and my beloved sister of course! They were all married this year and there’s still some coming along the way for the remaining two and the half months left for this year. First, it was Siew Lee gotten married in March, then Amy in June, my sister in July, and there were few others in between which I do not wish to mention. Up and coming is my cousin Cindy’s wedding and then Siong Long & Joey’s wedding in November, and most recent news is Michelle Chan’s wedding ceremony this coming December. Oh dear, I am going broke!

Seeing wedding bells going off and fresh ones coming all year long, it makes me wonder when will I reach a point where I would feel left out from the ‘crowed’. Fortunately, I am not right now. I am still blissfully enjoying my unmarried life. Probably that’s because I have a comfortable and steady on going relationship now that I don’t event think of jumping on the bandwagon. I am still rightfully happy at where I am now, not feeling obliged to claim my title as a Mrs. yet.

Well, it’s true that I had long have this relationship with someone, long enough that people often do ask me the question of when is my turn to get married. Probably it’s the fact that I’m a girl. But I’m not worried as I am still in my twenties. Duh! It’s not a surprising thing now as there are many women who are not married but have a good wonderful relationship with their partner in live. After all, divorce rate is rising high and marriage cert is just a legal bondage written on paper that doesn’t hold much meaning other than stating you’re the Mr. & Mrs. so and so.

Hold on a second, please don’t get me wrong. I am not against marriage and such. It is just that to me, marriage is supposed to be something sacred and holds true to the meaning of love. It is not just the legal bondage written on paper but it is supposed to be a true act of commitment and conviction to stay true to each other ‘till death do us part’. Nor is it marriage is an act of bonding the person whom you deem you love to be forever by your side because you are scared that somebody else will snatch him/her away from you. This seems right and maybe it is really love. But what if it was just an infatuation or a ‘spur of a moment’ thing. To me, the worst of all is people get married just for the sake of getting married or because ‘my parents/ relatives/ friends asked me to’.

Well, I’m not the expert here in this subject of marriage. After all, I am still young and have a lot to learn. All I just do it observe, think and learn from whatever things that I could grasps. Now I just left one question to ask. If the majority of the people I know are already married and busily mending their own married life, and I am not, should I be worried of where I am at? Would you be worried? Hmm…. I still couldn’t imagine exactly how I would react at that time. Just grab a man and get married off? Definitely NOT IN MY RIGHTFUL STATE OF MIND !

Must haves designer brand with BIG Discounts

I was browsing through the internet for fashion ideas on what to wear to my company up coming annual dinner this December. I need to find something which looks glamorous enough to pull off walking through the red carpet – that’s what the theme that was given for this year.

Working in an office situated just on top of a large shopping mall, it is always convenient for me to do shopping or even window shopping any day I like. I was walking pass through a well known designer brand boutique on the ground floor of the shopping mall the other day and saw that they have sales going on. Advertised on the glass door, “Everything 50% off”. Wow! I was quite tempted to go in and have a look but I didn’t because I know even though the price there has been slashed with 50% discounts, it is still tad too expensive for me.

You know… when you walk into those expensive and well known designer boutique, the sales girls there would look at you at one kind, sort of scrutinizing you from head to toe. And you probably will be embarrass if you were not wearing any branded stuff to show off that you have got the purchasing power to even worthy of browsing through their range of items in their shop. That is why people like me, seldom or would not even dare to go into those high-end fashion boutique. But if you shop through the internet, this would be a completely different scenario.

There is this website called koodos.com which sells all sorts of designer fashion with great discounts offer, comprises of many well known brands such as Prada, Gucci, Jimmy Choo, Chloe, Nike and etc. I am particularly attracted to the designer handbags being sold by koodos.com. My eyes were fixed upond the Furla Josee bag (see picture), koodos price £143.00 (original price £220.00). Yup! I know it is really expensive especially after converting it to MYR it would be around RM1,000 for the bag. I love the design and the versatility of the colour. Such a ‘good taste’ I have eh?

If you can really afford it, koodos is absolutely a good place to shop for smart discounted price for authentic designer brands goods. Men and women fashion items can be found there. But you have got to hurry because their item is so popular, they run out of stock fast and they only have limited quantity for each item they sell at their website.

Plus size fashion can be fashionable

Who says if you wear a plus size clothings, you cannot be as fashionable as the rest of the normal or skinny unrealistics looking people? I think if you are bigger size than the rest of the nice looking models, you should not drown yourself with low-self esteem and subject yourself with self pity on the way you look. Besides having a healthy diet and exercising to loose weight (if that is what you are doing), the next most important thing is just to find the right outfit for you to look fabulous. Womens fashion is an ever growing industry and no one is left out in this modern world of fashion. All you need is just the will to change your appeariance top up with the choice of clothes you wear to look good no matter what size you are at.

I used to admire one of my teacher in primary school. She's a plus size and I really like how she mix and match her outfit to make it looks fashionable and high class. Added with the right simple jewelry, it enhances her looks. Hey, even skinny beautiful people need to have the right fashion sense and find the right outfit for their individual body shapes to look good.

Skinny or normal size people usually finds it easier to shop for clothings and has many types of fashion to choose from. No doubt about that. But don't worry if you are a size 16 and up, you can still find flatering outfit for yourself at places selling renowned plus size fashion for women such as Elvi.com who expertly designed for you. Do shop around. Everyone deserved to look fashionable no matter what!

Should I quit my job?

I run through a fun test on this.... What it says for me is quite true for my current predicament though. So it says, I should start looking for other job options with better offer. Probably I should just quit and be a stay home blogger that earns me some decent money huh? Nah.... that won't happen at the moment because that won't be able to cover my daily expenses yet. Unless God made me a way through it one day, then I will quit.

Your Job Dissatisfaction Level is 32%

Your job is not bad, but it's probably not a long term thing.
You're just not happy enough to stick around for too long...
And there's little that can change how you feel.
Start looking around for other options, but only quit for something really good!

Interesting - Learning history

This is an article I got from a friend. I don't quite like history but this article is pretty interesting. Just Thought I should share it with everyone else.

In The 1500's

The next time you are washing your hands and complain because the water temperature isn't just how you like it, think about how things used to be. Here are some facts about the 1500s:

These are interesting...

Most people got married in June because they took their yearly bath in May , and still smelled pretty good by June. However, they were starting to smell, so brides carried a bouquet of flowers to hide the body odour. Hence the custom today of carrying a bouquet when getting married.

Baths consisted of a big tub filled with hot water. The man of the house had the privilege of the nice clean water, then all the other sons and men, then the women and finally the children. Last of all the babies. By then the water was so dirty you could actually lose someone in it. Hence the saying, Don't throw the baby out with the Bath water..

Houses had thatched roofs-thick straw-piled high, with no wood underneath. It was the only place for animals to get warm, so all the cats and other small animals (mice, bugs) lived in the roof. When it rained it became slippery and sometimes the animals would slip and fall off the roof. Hence the saying It's raining cats and dogs.

There was nothing to stop things from falling into the house.. This posed a real problem in the bedroom where bugs and other droppings could mess up your nice clean bed. Hence, a bed with big posts and a sheet hung over the top afforded some protection. That's how canopy beds came into existence.

The floor was dirt. Only the wealthy had something other than dirt. Hence the saying, Dirt poor. The wealthy had slate floors that would get slippery in the winter when wet, so they spread thresh (straw) on floor to help keep their footing. As the winter wore on, they added more thresh until, when you opened the door, it would all start slipping outside. A piece of wood was placed in the entrance way. Hence the saying a thresh hold.

(Getting quite an education, aren't you?)

In those old days, they cooked in the kitchen with a big kettle that always hung over the fire. Every day they lit the fire and added things to the pot. They ate mostly vegetables a and did not get much meat. They would eat the stew for dinner, leaving leftovers in the pot to get cold overnight and then start over the next day. Sometimes stew had food in it that had been there for quite a while. Hence the rhyme, Peas porridge hot, peas porridge cold, peas porridge in the pot nine days old.

Sometimes they could obtain pork, which made them feel quite special. When visitors came over, they would hang up their bacon to show off. It was a sign of wealth that a man could, bring home the bacon. They would cut off a little to share with guests and would all sit around and chew the fat.

Those with money had plates made of pewter. Food with high acid content caused some of the lead to leach onto the food, causing lead poisoning death. This happened most often with tomatoes, so for the next 400 years or so, tomatoes were considered poisonous.

Bread was divided according to status. Workers got the burnt bottom of the loaf, the family got the middle, and guests got the top, or the upper crust.

Lead cups were used to drink ale or whiskey. The combination would sometimes knock the imbibers out for a couple of days. Someone walking along the road would take them for dead and prepare them for burial. They were laid out on the kitchen
table for a couple of days and the family would gather around and eat and drink and wait and see if they would wake up. Hence the custom of holding a wake.

England was old and small and the local folks started running out of places to bury people. So they would dig up coffins and would take the bones to a bone-house, and reuse the grave. When reopening these coffins, 1 out of 25 coffins were found to have scratch marks on the inside and they realized they had been burying people alive. So they would tie a string on the wrist of the corpse, lead it through the coffin and up through the ground and tie it to a bell. Someone would have to sit out in the graveyard all night (the graveyard shift.) to listen for the bell; thus, someone could be, saved by the bell or was considered a dead ringer.

And that's the truth...Now, whoever said
History was boring ! ! !

Gold Investment

Since ancient time long, long ago people of the past had been so facinated with their findings of gold elements in the world discovery. With the glimmering colour and high class displaying status, ancient people treated it as a status of wealth, power, pride and majesty. It is commonly used as a form of jewelry, decorations or household utensil in the houses of the kings and rulers, nobles men and the rich communities. Gold has also been widely used as in the modern time we called it "money", to purchase goods and for trading.

In this modern time, gold is widely used as a form of investment product. Centuries ago, buying gold has been recognized as a from of preserving one's wealth and purchasing power. It has not changed since. Even until these days, many people recognized it as a part of a good investment because the value of gold has been solidly increasing over the years. The value of gold that you buy now will definately be higher when you sell it later in the future. If the gold you have is a rare bullion (precious metal), then getting a higher investment value is a guarantee.

But keeping your gold investment with you at home is not a safest thing to do. It is best to deposit your precious metals investment in a reputable and trustworty independent bank or depository like Monex Deposit Company (MDC) in America.

Little things to help save the environment

Yesterday, 15th October 2007 is Blog Action Day where bloggers around the world unite together to blog for the same topic.
This time round is topic about the environment.

I have always like to do something to help improve our environment by

  • turning off the lights of the room/ area where no body is using at home
  • travel using public transport or car pool whenever I can - lesser motor vehicle on the road can lessen the carbon monoxide emission on the road and reduce traffic jams
  • going out less unless you really need to - limiting the need to use the car unnecessarily
  • not using the washing machine to wash the clothes everyday as it uses up a lot of water to do so. Washing clothes 1-2 times a week or 2-3 times a week would be fine depending on the number of family members you have.
  • not keeping the water tap running while I am brushing my teeth
  • not spending too much time on the shower else will risk water wastage ( I know of someone who spend at least 1 hour bathing everyday )
Here are some of the few other things that I found it's good to start off with:

  • If you are thinking of changing your monitor or household electrical items, go for the more energy efficient ones like energy saving monitor type or microwave oven with energy saving capabilities
  • Switch off your computer at the end of the day particularly at your office. Or if you are downloading something on your computer at home and you are not using it for other things else, turn off your monitor
  • Donate for charity to an Environmental Cause
  • Keep your computer longer and learn how to recycle it when you do upgrade (learn more about the ‘computer problem’)
  • Have more indoor plants around your computer area to offset carbon emissions from using the computer for all day long
Simple little things like this can help save the environment in the long run. If we all learn to be more responsible to the environment, we are helping to built a better future for our children and the future generation too.

Good lazy holiday

Friday, 12th Oct - Went to work as usual, check my Office Outlook and glad to see that there is not much work for me to do for the day. Office closed at 4pm because it's the eve of Hari Raya Festive Season. Thank God, I could leave at 4pm since I do not have anything urgent pending for me to do at work. When I left the office, it seems like I was the first one to leave that early that day. I don't mind.... just feel happy and looking forward for the 3 days off from work.

Saturday, 13th Oct - It's the first day of Hari Raya. Nothing special or planed to do because I don't celebrate Hari Raya and I do not have malay friends that I could go do house visiting. Just like any normal Saturdays, I would wake up late and spend time watching TV, playing computer games, playing with Jojo, and laze around all day long. I only sleep at the wee hours in the morning no matter how sleepy I am that time.

Sunday, 14th Oct - I wake up late and still feel groggy because of the late night I put up with the day before. I used to normally go to church every Sunday, but now not that often anymore. Seem to have lost the passion and the purpose of doing fellowship with others because as I think and think, it does still make sense that we can worship God anywhere, anytime and whenever we could. Not necessary got to be Sunday. But I do think Sunday must be sacred and joining the communion in church on Sunday morning is the most rightful thing to do. Hmm... what am I rambling here... Well, probably God will soon one day slaping me to WAKE UP!!! So... what I do on Sunday? Hmm... pretty the same as on Saturday. The only difference is I've got to go to bed early because have to work on Monday. But I can skip that this particular Sunday because tomorow is still a holiday.

Monday, 15th Oct - Feeling so good not to have to go to work today. This is a replacement holiday for Hari Raya. I love it when the holiday falls on Friday or Monday. In that, I could get a nice stretch of 3 days off from work. On what I did today, I've just watched two movies on Astro and now spending my time blogging..... The rest of the day, unplaned.

That's how I spend my Hari Raya holiday this year. Seems boring to many, but I really enjoy the relaxing leisure time with my loved ones and Jojo. Not necessary have to go to interesting places or do some wild unimmaginable things to get the kick off my butt to refresh myself to go back to the crazy working days after the holidays. I'm not that hard to please after all...

$$$ Claimed received at last

Today I finally received the money for company insurance claimed on my hospitalization bill over 3 months ago. Although not a lot, but really good that I "earn" from it because the insurance company pay me additional allowance for 2 days stay at the government hospital.

Recently, many things happen that don't know why my money just gone like that. Have been living in a tight budget for quite some time now..... I wish this thing will end abruptly. In just another 2 months plus, year 2007 would pass away and come another new year to begin with. I hope God will give me his blessings and end my long over due predicament that I myself wish to rescue from it countless times.

Sigh... these few days I have no mood to blog. It's hard to grab on any pay post opportunities although I've been hardworking checking on those few websites for the past few days. Sometimes I missed just because the opportunities were released somewhat in the middle of the night or in the wee hours in the morning here. I don't ask for much, just give me do one post of $5 or $6 per day would be enough to keep me happy. I think there might be also because there are not many advertisers who are willing to give offer to low Google PR blog and this makes the opportunities to bloggers like me has fewer opportunities. Well, I've been trying hard to get my PR up but Google has still yet to update my rank as the same as many others who has complained about this. The latest bad new I heard is that Google do not intent to give any PR to new free blog site like Blogger. I do not know whether my blog is consider new or old, depending on when they actually decided to implement this. If this is true, then it will be even more unfair to many bloggers who does not have money and rely on free blog site to earn some decent money.

Yay! Can login here now!!!

I have been really busy at work lately and do not have much time to view blogs. I was hit with a disappointment at work because company IT department suddently blocked us from using blogger a week ago. I have writen my frustration on my "Unhappiness at work place" when it happened.

Today, when I was just going to read my friend's blog at blogspot, I was surprise it didn't pop up the block message window which usually says "block by content advisor". So, I try my luck to login to blogger and viola!! I can access all the blogger pages now. I am so happy to find out about this. I suspected that I can have access to it now because yesterday when I couldn't download file from my work website server (which previously can), IT done something to lift up the blocking website for my login user so that I can download my work file from my work server. Hahaha.... (fading laugh) Now I can freely access blogger at work now. Just hope that they won't geniously change my company login settings from now onwards.

Presents for Guys

Girls, who is the first guy that have receive a present from you? Besides your family members of course. Your crush in school? Your guy bestfriend? Your first love? When we think back the time where we squeeze our brain juices to think of a special present that we would like to give to a guy who is special to us, there is one thing that is always and must always be present. It must be special. Everyone is special in their own way. Giving someone a present should be like that. We musn't just give for the sake of giving it. It must be meaningful and sincere. Try to give something useful to them. Whether he is your dad or your husband, we must always find the perfect gifts for him.

Five don't when you are sleeping

I found this article useful. It can help us improve our sleep and maintain a good health in the long run. The last tips is rather funny but true....

DON'T SLEEP WITH WATCH
Watches can emit a certain level of radioactivity. Though small, but if you wear your watch to bed for a long time, it might have adverse effects on your health.

DON'T SLEEP WITH BRA
Scientists in America have discovered those that wear bras for more than 12 hours have a higher risk of getting breast cancer. So go to bed without it.

DON'T SLEEP WITH PHONE
Putting the phone beside your bed or anywhere near you is not encouraged. Though some of us will use phones as alarm clocks, but please put the phone as far as possible. Scientists have proved that electrical items including mobile phone and television sets emit magnetic waves when used. These waves can cause disruptions to our nervous system. Therefore if you need to put your mobile phone near you, switch it off first.

DON'T SLEEP WITH MAKE UP
People who sleep with make up might have skin problems in the long run. Sleeping with make up will cause the skin to have difficulty in breathing and problem in perspiring. You will also need a much longer time to go into deep sleep.

Lastly.....

DON'T SLEEP WITH OTHERS' WIFE / HUSBAND
You may never wake up again.

Shouldn't ask me these questions

I was being tag by LemonJude on the 8 questions people shouldn't ask me. After very much thinking, here are the 8 questions I consider it will send my temper to the boiling point if were to ask again and again.

1) Why are you not getting married???
[When I am, I will tell. Don't need to ask me each time we meet.]

2) Why are you so thin already???
[Well, I don't know. I don't feel thin as I can still wear most of my clothing as before. I feel I am getting fatter also. Very weired some people ask me this question.]

3) Why you eat so little rice???
[I don't like rice, as I would answered. And this is not why I got thinner. I eat more on other things.]

4) Why don't you like eating rice???
[Sigh... don't like means don't like! Same as people don't like durians. Don't keep asking again and again this question I consider stupid after I have already answered.]

5) Why you always work overtime???
[If I always stay back late at work means I am really dead busy with work. Hate it especially when I am in pressure to meet dateline and some keep hurrying me to finish faster. Who don't want to finish work faster and go home early? I am of course doing my very best to complete my task and go home relax. I am not those people who likes to stay late in the office just to show off to bosses that they are hardworking while faking it.]

6) Why it takes you so long to answer my question???
[When I don't answer you right there and then means your questions is hard to answer and I am really seriously thinking on the answer. Not to simply giving you an answer to shut you off. Shouldn't pressure me on giving you answer fast on hard questions else it takes me longer to come up with the truthful answer.]

7) With your look, why don't you safe yourself from the sufferings of working life and go find a rich husband???
[Duh! Who doesn't want that? You think if you want you'll definitely get it? It's not like shopping you know?]

8) Are you bored sitting alone here?
[The place where I sit in the office is a cubicle of four desk. Since January this year, I am the only one sitting there and my surrounding area is quite empty. I love this privacy and quietness where I won't need to be aware of other people snooping around what I do. Definitely not bored as I got IM. And it's really irritating when everyone pass by ask me am I bored sitting alone here. And I got to answer to the many same question every time.]

Unhappy at work place

I generally like working at my current company which I have been faithful since March 2003 (minus one year that I left). I don't have much complaints about my work, just generally unsatisfied with the monthly salary, and the occasional dull & childish company events that participation being made compulsory.

Just not too long ago, I started blogging seriously. I found many benefits of having a blog now. Besides having interest in putting my thoughts in words, I can earn some money through blogging too (that's because working here makes me poor). I can choose to work somewhere else of course, but I rather stay because I like my work scope and office location I guess. There is not many big company with the same type of industries like my company in Malaysia. Hence, I am stuck here for now.....

Lately, I have found the joy of spending my free time on Blogger during working hours. I know it wasn't exactly the correct working etiquette but who would actually commit his working time 100% on full concentration on work and work alone? I am pretty sure at least 99.9% of workers will procrastinate their working time in reading junk mails and doing other things unrelated to work during the 8 official working hours. Even if it is not being done everyday, it would be at least one-two time a week. I am greatly distress that my company IT department has recently blocked the Blogger website. I can still read post though. What is the use when you cannot login at all? Sigh..... what a bad omen. First, it was Friendster and YouTube, then now Blogger??? At first, Hotmail was also baned but it was lifted later. MSN Messenger is also baned even until now but I have permission to use because of work.

What is this culture they are trying to instill here? Treating us like children by restricting our freedom? We seldom see this kind of thing happening in western countries. What should be most important is we as employee able to deliver what is require of us to do in our work, nothing else matter isn't it? As long as we do not breach company policies or doing anything illegal that tarnish company's image, so why bother with those childish restrictions? I thought the world now has become more civilized and working in a global company will have a difference. Seems that I was wrong all these while.....

Girl’s night out

I had a nice time out with my girl-friends on weekends consecutively for the past two weeks. One day each week. Both times were with different friends group but still I found it enjoyable.

22nd Sept – Gatherings with college mate at Station 1 Cafe, Pandan Indah. It was a girl’s night out for all the girls in my group of college friends. There were six of us (excludes JL’s boyfriend). I haven’t met them since…. SL’s wedding. Although the meet up was a bit short for me because I have to leave early, but the whole time was just great for me to eat out with friends. I ordered Omelets served with fries and salad. The Omelets taste good and the potion was just nice for a normal girl’s appetite. I ordered hot honey for my drinks as I was having soar-throat at that time. It was a bit too sweet for me though. SL and MY arrived late and I didn’t have much time catching-up with them. Oh, I almost forgot that MC announced that her wedding would be in October next year. Probably will be held in Ciao Restaurant – definitely a nice change from the conventional Chinese wedding dinner.

28th Sept – Gatherings with primary school mate at Pavilion, KL. There were six of us, girls who were best buddies in primary school. We still pretty much keep in touch with each other until now. However there were only four of us who could meet out for dinner last Friday. I had always enjoyed going out with these group of friends. Not only we had the longest surviving friendship, but we also truthfully share our sad and good life time stories with each other (though some things are still remain secretive). We browse through all the available restaurants and lastly we settle down for a nice meal at Nandos because food price were more reasonable there. For those who are not aware, Pavilion, KL is a newly opened shopping mall at the heart of KL’s Golden Triangle. Most of the shops and restaurants there cater for a higher range income group people. With their sophisticated names and classy designed inner structures, no wonder their parking rates are sky high too. If I am not mistaken, they charge RM3 for 1st hour and additional RM0.50 for every half hour for the parking fees.

Really nice going out with a group of girl-friends once in a while to unwind, retuned and get away from hectic unforgiving personal life.

Garage Cabinets

I think every household has their own sets of junk or tools they need to store away in their home. I think it is important that people have proper cabinets to store those things. Things like hardware tools, paints and highly inflammable items need to be store in cabinets for safety and keep your house clean and tidy. And choosing the right cabinets is very important because some items are not suitable to be store in a wooden cabinet for an example. For those dangerous and highly inflammable items, it is best to store it in a metal cabinets because it provides better protections and it last longer. Metal cabinets are the most suitable for your garage storage. To safe you the hassle of buying it at the store, you can purchase your cabinets online at CarGuyGarage.com
